Google announced Wednesday on their blog that they have exercised their remote application removal feature in the Android Market. According to the blog, two free applications were built by a security researcher for research purposes, and in Google’s own words, “The applications were practically useless, most users uninstalled the applications shortly after downloading them.” Yet [...]

I’ve had my shiny new iPhone 4 for a couple of days now, and I must say – it’s pretty amazing. Granted, I upgraded from the iPhone 3G, a virtual smartphone antique, but still, I’m handily impressed. Most of all, I love the speed: the boost to a 1GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM [...]

iPhone Alley is undergoing an update. Many of you have likely already noticed that some things are different, some things are or were temporarily broken, and some things have stayed the same. It would appear there are a lot of people trying to pre-order the iPhone 4, as many users are getting “Your request couldn’t be processed” errors. At first, I thought it could be that too many people are trying to simultaneously order the new MacMini, but I don’t think that is the problem. In order for Apple to proceed, their servers connect with AT&T’s servers, and a quick check on AT&T’s end of things reveals the problem.

Ambrosia announced today they are having a summer sale on all of their iPad apps, marking them down to only $0.99 each. Two of the apps on sale are normally $9.99, so this is a good opportunity to pickup a couple of great apps without dropping a lot of cash. The sale started today and ends at midnight June 18 (EST).

If you are considering pre-ordering an iPhone 4 tomorrow, ordering options have just increased. In addition to ordering online via Apple’s website, both Best Buy and Radio Shack are going to be taking pre-orders in store for the much sought after device. Wal-Mart, however, will not be taking pre-orders.

While a lot of attention has been put on the upgraded camera coming to the iPhone 4, we thought we would compare some iPhone camera apps that don’t require a ton of megapixels to make great pictures. Each of these apps help the iPhone take cheap retro looking photos, like the plastic cameras that used to be popular in the late 70s/early 80s. In this shootout, we chose three apps that seemed the most complete and advertised the ability to create awesome retro pics.
